Comprehensive range of dimensional services includes the initial site land survey (including setting up primary and secondary survey control through conventional and complex 3D setting out), volume calculations and 2D/3D movement or settlement monitoring, and continues right up to the surveying of the Net Lettable Areas at the handover phase.
Development projects, particularly those with large mass or height can have a major impact on the surrounding visual environment. For this reason, planning authorities often demand that the visual impact of the development is modelled using a combination of rectified photography and accurate field surveying – Verified Views.
We have the in-house expertise to produce the dimensionally accurate before and after Verified Views of the built environment for planning purposes. This is carried out through a combination of 3D CAD models, surveyed points, camera and lens data and data on the proposed development.

Our CAD Team plays a major role at Paro Designs as it represents the heritage from which we emerged. We carry out pure CAD projects and support all other phases throigh our various partners. We carry out our CAD work in-house. This means we can ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, while also keeping prices competitive.

Scan to BIM / 3D Laser Scanning
Paro Designs delivers data collected from 3D laser scanning in a variety of formats, including fully-formed Revit models. This process, sometimes referred to as “scan to BIM” takes data collected through 3D laser scanning, develops into a point cloud with millions of data points, and converts that information into a Building Information Model (BIM) in Revit.

The ground model is a live, up-to-date state of knowledge of site conditions relevant to the development. It contains all available site characterisation data and analysis products. It is usually hosted in a geographical information system (GIS) to help with integration, analysis and providing outputs to client specifications – it also automatically enables efficient and secure retrieval and archiving.

As Built Surveys
As-built surveys are prepared most often at the end of construction to satisfy municipal or lender requirements. They help to determine that all improvements on a site were constructed in compliance with the specifications as outlined by the engineer during the design process. An as-built survey is often necessary to obtain a certificate of occupancy from a city or county. This survey usually reflects all building, curb, parking lot features, utilities, sanitary sewer, storm drainage facilities, and other structures as needed.
We work with qualified partners throughout the project to document the as-built developments to standards which are acceptable to all stakeholders.
Drone Services For Precision Construction Projects
Through our parent company, My Drone Services, we are able to provide a variety of finely tuned Remote piloted Aerial System (RPAS) /drone enabled precision construction capabilities:
RPAS Topographic Surveys
Under certain conditions, commissioning a RPAS Survey is the fastest way to collect data required to process a Photogrammetry Topographic Survey.
RPAS Building Surveys
RPAS can be extremely useful for certain building survey tasks, particularly at externally high areas that are not visible safely from any other point.
RPAS Volumetric Surveys
Volumetric stockpile measurement surveys have become extremely efficient and accurate in recent years using RPAS.
RPAS Progress Monitoring
Periodic Monitoring or ‘Snapshots in Time’ can be extremely beneficial on a construction project to record progress against schedule.
